    It was the use of colored dots in squares – as opposed to the overlapping circles of Venn diagrams – that helped me relearn just how Bayes Theorem in Statistics works.

    Notice how these types of graphics allow you to quickly portray accurate magnitudes in visual comparisons in a very dramatic way.

    I don’t know who said it but, “Specificity is the Mother of Credibility.”

    Now, think in terms of product marketing graphics: product performance comparisons, user popularity, or support community size comparisons. One of these little colored dot-blocks with a caption can really clarify: “Chosen as the Most Popular Server in its Class!”

    These diagrams tell the story at a glance, but then the longer you look, the more you see. Don’t ignore the outliers, one or two-dot populations, as opportunities.
